Mechanic - Alff Construction As a Mechanic employed by Alff Construction, you will repair, inspect, and maintain services for cars, trucks and off-road equipment. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing automotive problems, determining their best solutions, and making any necessary repairs to ensure the fleet is running well. You will do so in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. Responsibilities include: · Perform repair work on vehicles, such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. · Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit · Perform maintenance and repair welding on equipment. Fabricate parts as required including any design work needed · Assist Landscape Crew, as needed · Track fleet repairs, parts, and assign costs · Other duties as assigned Required Skills/Experiences · Current and valid commercial driver’s license. · General understanding of the automotive industry. · Knowledge of heavy duty, automotive, and small engines and controls. · Knowledge of transmissions and controls. · Knowledge of brakes and suspensions. · Knowledge of the various heavy vehicles and equipment. · Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment. · Skilled in welding and cutting. · Skilled in DOT inspections. · Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as forklifts and skid loaders. · Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach. · Ability to push/pull. · Ability to lift /carry up to 100 lbs. · Equipped with the necessary tools (agricultural/industrial/automotive) Benefits: Alff Construction offers a competitive benefits package which includes Health, Dental and Vision, 401K.
