Please join HEYLO (Helping Every Young Lady Out) on September 3, 2022, for a rare screening of the short documentary film, "From the Ashes", a multidisciplinary narrative of a Black woman’s journey through postpartum depression and towards spiritual rebirth, by Oakland-native mother, filmmaker, and activist, Theresa Fortune. The screening will be followed by delicious refreshments and a panel discussion featuring Theresa Fortune and mental health experts exploring the inner struggles of postpartum depression, anxiety and inequities of maternal mental health care faced by women of color. This event is open to the public for a donation of any amount. Due to limited venue space, we ask that participants register for the event here on EventBrite.
