Join us for Free Summer Sundays in August! Families will enjoy free admission to the Whitefield House museum, and children will learn colonial skills and crafts through unique hands-on projects each week!
August 7: Families will learn how people churned cream into butter in colonial households and children will shake up a batch of their own butter!
August 14: Families will learn how candles were made in colonial times and children will practice dipping candles using modern methods of heating wax.
August 21: Families will learn how to sew and fill a beanbag that can be used to play Bean Bag Toss on the lawn of the museum.
August 28: Families are invited to join us for an afternoon of work and play. Try your hand at colonial chores and then enjoy traditional toys and games when the work is done!
*While all are welcome to join us, these activities are best suited for children ages 6 and up.
