Share a safe space that encourages the freedom of expression and individuality! A music and arts festival like nothing you've attended before – Historically, Provincetown has never been for the straight and narrow. For over a century this 'dirty little ash-tray,' or Helltown, has been a safe haven for artists and the queer community. During the roaring 20's the town was considered "the most artistic place in the world". Tennessee Williams wrote 'A Streetcar Named Desire' in the Atlantic House. In 1965, Nina Simone performed in town during a visit with her friend Bob Thompson (a short-lived yet accomplished black painter.) A riot broke out in front of Spiritus Pizza in 1990 over the arrest of a local drag queen known as, Vanilla. Let's just say it involved.... flying pizzas, ice-cream cones, a golden plunger, and stilettos going through the back window of a cop car 👠 Be sure to book your stay early!
