At this in-person event , proof of vaccination is required and masks must be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Advance registration is required and walk-ups are not permitted. From job security to safety and salary, the pandemic brought a host of labor issues to the fore. Support for unions—and unions themselves—are experiencing a historic resurgence as companies like Starbucks, Amazon, and Trader Joe’s have been forced to confront their labor practices. Leading up to Labor Day weekend, hear what Judaism has to say about labor justice and learn about local organizing efforts from Hannah Garelick of Jews United for Justice and Sarah Levesque of OPEIU-Local 2, which represents thousands of workers in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
