The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Hilderbrand-Davis Post 1895 is located in Rotterdam, NY. The mission is to foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts, especially those living in Schenectady, NY, and the surrounding areas... VFW Post-1895 hosts regular fundraiser events to support Post 1895 and its Auxiliary... This cheese, charcuterie, pasta, pastries, and pizza appreciation event was inspired by Jim Cannistraci's, Mario Cardenas', Mario Tricomi's, and the Simone family's love for Italian food and pizza-making, John D. Marcella's Appliance dealer home and wood-fired pizza ovens, local gourmet food purveyors, and the Capital Region's pizzeria restaurants! National Pizza Month, in October, gives foodies and pizza-makers 31 days to explore the world of pizza and all the flavors it offers... It's not like we need a special occasion to enjoy the crispy and mouthwatering umami flavor of pizza... Pizza is perfect at any time of day. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner… On October 22, 2022, we will host a GOURMET FOOD SHOW, in Rotterdam, NY, to judge each contestant's best-made pizza, celebrate, and sample food... The VFW Post-1895 First Annual Pasta & Pizza Month Event and Best-Made Pizza Contest will also feature a PIZZA EATING CONTEST, a PIZZA DOUGH SPINNING CONTEST, and other competitive PIZZA GAMES, Cooking Demos, Caesar salad, pasta, and Italian meatballs, sausage, onions & peppers, pizza, pizza, pizza, and mini Italian pastries by Villa Italia, cash bar, music, and lots of fun!
