Creating Inclusive Cultures in the Workplace• What is an inclusive culture? • How do we know if we have an inclusive culture? • What can we do to create and maintain an inclusive culture? In our inaugural Inspire-Ring networking event, we invite you to listen to and converse with our local storytellers as we collectively discuss this fascinating, important, and topical subject. The Inspire-RingThe Inspire-Ring format encourages interaction in a safe and comfortable environment where the attendees and speakers will take their seats arranged in a circle. The first storyteller will step to the center of the ring and speak for 5-10 minutes on our topic, and then there will be approx 10 minutes of audience feedback and dialogue. Then the second storyteller will step into the center of the ring and the pattern will continue until all four have relayed their experiences and thoughts on the topic. Agenda• 2:00 - Guest check-in and networking Meet and chat with fellow attendees, grab a coffee and find a seat• 2:30 - Opening remarks Introductions to Inspire: Miami, the event, the storytellers, and partner recognition • 2:45 - The Inspire Ring The 4 storytellers will each talk about their experiences, awareness, and suggestions on our topic with approx 10 minutes between each for audience feedback and participation• 4:15 - Closing remarks Synopsis, thank-yous and additional time for networking in the hall or the hotel barEvent Notes: Pens, writing pads and light refreshments (tea/coffee/cookies) will be provided during the event.Attendees will receive a sticker for discounted self-parking rate of $5.00 per carOur StorytellersVanessa GonzalezVanessa Gonzalez is a 6+ year veteran police officer within the City of Miami Police Department. In addition to her police duties, she is also their LGBTQ Liaison Officer, building numerous partnerships within the LGBTQ community. She achieves this by attending and participating in various events across South Florida that helps to bridge the gap one training and encounter at a time. She is also a Mother, hersband, and is quite the entrepreneur. She is the co-owner of MAVA-Activation coffee, where, along with her business partner, their goal was to "create a coffee company that is so delicious, you can't wait to start your day." As well as producing great coffee, Mava Activation contributes to local charitable sports organizations and youth optimist clubs. Claire MarreroClaire Marrero is the Founder and CEO of The Talent Source, a local and national provider of tech-centric talent, where she helps connect successful businesses with candidates that are motivated not just financially, but by opportunities that offer a higher purpose. Since she started her career with one of the big four consulting firms over 25-years ago, Claire has been widely recognized as a passionate advocate for advancing women and helping organizations realize the benefits of diversity and inclusion. As president of the ITWomen Charitable Foundation, Claire works to achieve gender equality across the fields of technology & engineering by funding programs such as Free STEM Summer Camps, Field Trips, College Scholarships, along with mentoring and internship opportunities designed to inspire more girls to pursue careers in technology. Chris CollieChris Collie is the Managing Partner of Engaged Talent Solutions, an industry leader in HR consulting, talent acquisition, management training, and leadership development. He was formerly the Assistant Vice President of Leadership, Education, and Development at Marriott Vacations Worldwide, located in South Miami. Chris is a volunteer Mentor with the South Florida Chapter of the Association for Talent Development, where he meets regularly with his proteges to help them set and achieve various goals and objectives. Sabrina PeronSabrina Peron is a leadership business consultant who (for over 15 years) has worked with thousands of small business owners, executives, and self-employed individuals to release their potential and awaken the leader within them. While her specialty is in all things leadership and entrepreneurship, her passion is focused on diversity, inclusion, and equity, especially in the Latino/a/x/e community. She wants to help increase the number of minorities in spaces that historically haven’t been available to them.
