Description
Come outside and join St. Aloysius Parish and Recess Cleveland at a FREE Family-Friendly play day with friends and new friends in the Glenville area. The Unity Picnic is a fun-filled youth event with bounce houses, games, races, and much more. Recess Cleveland is bringing out some of our new bounce houses and we're also hosting competitions where winners may get prizes. Once enough people arrive, we would like to organize games of kickball, dodgeball, tug-of-war, and more. What to expect? A typical day of play feature bounce houses, food, music, art, dancing, card games (e.g spades, Uno, etc.), recess games (Dodgeball, Kickball, Gellyball, etc), a loose parts area (bubbles, giant blocks, fort building kits, etc) and free-play games (Connect 4, Jenga, etc.). You are free to play whatever game(s) you like at the event, or you could also sit back and enjoy the kids playing. All that we ask is that you fill out a feedback form after you leave the event. There will be people from all over the city, and it's a great way to get to know your community. Best of all, it's a free event! Recess Cleveland is a local nonprofit that builds healthy, active, and social communities using recess and organized sports. Recess is a great way to make new friends, and stay active! How do I sign up for this event? To register, click the green register button or orange tickets button attached to this event invite. Once clicked, please provide the names, and ages of the children attending. This event is from 10am-2pm. Recess Cleveland will only be there from 11am-1pm. Can I bring my own games to the Day of Play? Sure, please RSVP as a Volunteer if you plan to host a game so we can recognize you at the event. What should I wear? We recommend casual clothes, but feel free to wear whatever you're comfortable with. If you plan on playing some of the physical games (like dodgeball for instance), please wear sneakers or athletic shoes. Where should I park? There is a large parking lot next to the rec center. There is also plenty of street parking. Please avoid parking on the grass at all costs. But what about COVID... Recess Cleveland has spent the past year researching and practicing ways to get out a play safely during a pandemic. Masks are currently optional for all indoor events, and they are also optional at this event.
