Our discussion will seek to find ways we can transform North Lafayette for the benefit of the entire community after almost fifty years of disinvestment. Your voice, experiences, and ideas are central to moving this important conversation forward, and we welcome your individual participation. We will bring together local, state, and regional thought leaders for a honest, forward-thinking conversation focused on moving North Lafayette forward in an inclusive, equitable and thoughtful way. The Black community across Acadiana is in the midst of two pandemics. First, is the economic divide that continues to widen the inequities and divestments from the community. Secondly, is the after effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that has widened the socio-economic and health disparities throughout the Northside and have exacerbated the disadvantages in the communities. Our work is critical at this juncture in speaking to how targeting investments and working first from the inside_out in North Lafayette would help to galvanize the Northside community.
