Hosted by the Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services, this five-part training series aims to equip meal providers with tools and resources to better serve homeless and food-insecure Philadelphians. Trainings will be hosted inside the Hub of Hope and will cover topics ranging from nutrition, first aid, de-escalation, and more. The purpose of this second workshop is to train meal provider staff and volunteers in trauma aware de-escalation tactics. These tactics aim to reduce anxiety and prevent the escalation of conflict. Staff from Broad Street Ministry will lead the hour and half training. Attendees should expect to learn and address: The correlation between escalated behaviors and triggers.How staff strengths can be utilized during escalated situations.How to create a safe environment without engaging in traditional security tactics.Please RSVP.
