xBk presents Tapestry w/ The Haunted Hallows Sunday, September 4th 2022 Doors: 6pm Show: 7pm Tickets: $10 ADV // $15 DOS BIO: TAPESTRY - the “TAP” Tapestry is a 5 member String Band hailing from the Fort Atkinson area in Southeastern Wisconsin. The group features an expansive repertoire of music crossing many styles and decades, including songs you know and love, to ones you may have never heard before. Each member brings a multi-instrumentalist background and in any given song, you may hear a wide variety of instruments including acoustic and electric guitars, acoustic bass, 4 & 5 string banjos, mandolin & mandocello, dobro & lap steel, fiddle, viola & cello, button box concertina, accordion & keyboard, lap & hammer dulcimer, auto-harp, hog nose psaltry, and much more. Adding to all of this, solo vocals and up to 5 part harmony bring in a unique musical experience enjoyed across all age levels. MEMBERS Tom Cook - since teaching himself guitar in 7th grade Tom has gained 45 years of experience as a music educator and performing musician. Now retired from public education he spends his time performing in a number of bands from jazz, brass and band music to classical guitar and string band music. His playing covers all genre of stringed instruments, trombone, baritone, euphonium, bass guitar and upright bass. He spent some years touring with a bluegrass band and now plays and performs as much as possible. Mary Pat Cook - has been involved with music since a young age studying piano and 30+ years of teaching elementary music education and continues to teach private piano and guitar lessons. She brings her skills as a pianist and vocalist to the band along with multi instrumental abilities on guitar, mandolin, button box concertina, recorders and more. Gail Ladish - brings her unique vocals and strong string instrumental skills that showcase a love of progressive & traditional music. In any given show she will play guitar, cello, dobro, banjo, lap steel and more.Gail spent 3+ decades in Los Angeles involved in the music and film scenes with her husband Mike and then moved back to Farmington, Wi to retire. In short order Gail became involved with the acoustic music scene with like minded people and helped found Tapestry. Roger Rumppe - is a Fort Atkinson native and a semi-retired chemistry educator. His love of music began in school bands and progressed to classical guitar in later years. Seeing a need Roger picked up the acoustic bass and joined Tapestry as the 4th member. He enjoys all music genres and is the foundation or “thunder-down-under” in the band. His vocal stylings of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard & many more are very popular with each performance. Jan Niebler - resides in Lake Mills, Wisconsin retiring from an interior design and decorator career. She studied violin and viola during her younger and college years and features both of these instruments with Tapestry. Although new to the string band world, Jan brings sweet melodies and harmonies to each “Tapestry” performance. She enjoys staying young through her tennis and bridge tournaments and performing on stage, with the band. --------------------------------------- The Haunted Hallows: From Des Moines, Iowa, Americana of a darker kind. Banjo pluckin', moonshine drinkin', grave diggin' rhythms mixed w/ haunting harmonies bringing out the darker side of bluegrass.
