Description
The Mayberry Effect Documentary Wednesday, September 2 at 11 am at the Historic Earle Theatre About The Film The Mayberry Effect is a thought-provoking feature-length documentary film investigating the topic of nostalgia through the lens of The Andy Griffith Show. Chris Hudson directed, produced, edited, and was the cinematographer for the multi-award-winning documentary The Mayberry Effect. Chris explores the enduring charms of Mayberry and poses a tricky question about the nation’s psyche: “Why is this fictional town such a cultural touchstone over six decades later?” Chris began the project while a graduate student in documentary film at Wake Forest University. He says that he has come to realize that attendees of Mayberry Days share a sense of fellowship by being around other devotees. Many fans return year after year and are reunited with other fans. “They feel good about themselves, being around their own people, and they take that feeling with them.” Producer/Director/Editor Chris Hudson will be available after the screening for a short Q&A. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Tickets are general admission.
