The name came from their neighborhood, Hidden Valley in Charlotte, NC. HVK was featured on the hit TV series Gangland. Roscoe Abell has been a feature in the Urban magazine ASIS. Roscoe has spent approximately 25 years out of his 43 years in prison. While in prison, Mr. Abel transformed the revolutionary culture. He transformed his criminal mentality into a revolutionary mentality. He is a redeemed man who follows the "New African Revolutionary Nationalist ideology." He is also the assistant Chairman of the WL NOLEN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, which Kijana Tashiri Askari started in 2012. Mr. Abell now goes by the African name "Kamau Askari Kambon." The WL NOLEN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM is a community-based abolition organization constructed to provide the people of our communities with to connect with conscious black revolutionaries on many fronts. Roscoe is working with black kids in hopes that he can at least minimize gang violence. This is his story, his life as a King.
