Please join us as we create beautiful garden rock mosaics using broken dishes and stained glass (our "tessera" of choice!). Pre-broken tiles will be provided, however, I will also demonstrate China/plate nipping as well as stained glass cutting for those who are interested (very addictive and easier than you might think!). Class size is limited to 10.
I will have a couple pairs of tools/safety equipment available for use. However, I recommend, for convenience, bringing your own pair of tile nippers for those irregular shapes you may wish to create as you mosaic (to make a piece "fit" better). If you bring tools, I recommend also bringing cut proof gloves and safety goggles. If you have an interest in nipping your own stained glass to fit, I suggest bringing a pair of wheel nippers and a scoring tool (in addition to the safety items). These are all located in the mosaic aisle of Hobby Lobby. Please see pics below.
Finally, feel free to bring your own China/tiles/do-dads (suitable for outdoors)! If you're looking for mosaic materials, Michaels has stopped carrying them in store, but Hobby Lobby has a nice selection.
You may wish to create your design on a somewhat large (8"+ stone), to be provided. I will be available to help everyone carry the finished mosaics to their vehicles and my wagon is also available if that is helpful. :-)
This class is at the 'Tis Annex Art Education Building (teal building with pink awning) on Marina Street and Sheldon. Additional parking is available in back. Please ring the buzzer if the door is not open when you arrive. Hope to see you there!
