From pandemic-related stresses to understaffed schools and political battles, many teachers are calling it quits. A recent NEA survey revealed that 55 percent of currently employed teachers are seriously thinking about leaving their jobs, and that number is even higher for teachers of color. While challenges related to supporting the teacher workforce may seem daunting, there are actionable steps we can take to redesign systems and structures to make schools places where teachers love to teach. Join Education Elements, the Henry Ford Learning Institute, and school and district leaders from throughout Southeast Michigan for a two-day human-centered design challenge to collectively generate solutions to one of the most pressing problems in K-12 education.
