Description

Ruthanna Okpalaeke from Urban Triage will speak on African Diaspora crops, some of which she is growing as part of the Supporting Healthy Black Agriculture program. Lisa Johnson from Dane County Extension will cover basic garden maintenance techniques such as proper watering, composting, fertilizing, and weed management for in-ground gardens. Alex Booker from Rooted, Inc. will focus on selecting and growing herbs and small stature crops in containers on windowsills and patios Chef Yusef from Traderoots will provide education on food sovereignty systems and dishes created with African Diaspora crops.
