The Cherohala Reso Workshop is an annual two day instructional workshop on playing the squareneck resonator guitar and is held in Uncle Josh Graves' own hometown of beautiful Tellico Plains, Tennessee. If you play the squareneck resonator guitar or are interested in learning to play this great instrument we’d love to have you at our workshop.
This will be a 2 full-day instructional workshop with two sessions on Thursday October 20th and two sessions on Friday October 21st. The third day (Saturday 22nd) is the annual Cherohala Skyway Festival which hosts the Josh Graves Memorial Dobro Pick-Off competition just a couple miles from the workshop. The workshop will be held in a cabin overlooking the beautiful Tellico River. We’re going to cover a number of topics on the dobro from beginner to advanced techniques, plus there will be plenty of jamming between and after classes. For more information visit us on Facebook. Registration is only $185 per person but keep in mind there are a limited number of slots available so register now to secure your spot. The $185 fee is for the 2-day workshop only and does not include lodging. There are a number of beautiful cabins available through Mountain View Cabin Rentals just down the river from the workshop.
Our guest instructor this year will be the talented Matt Leadbetter, son of legendary dobro player Phil Leadbetter. Following in his father's musical footsteps Matt has established himself as one of the most sought after dobroists in the business playing with such outstanding groups such as The Isaacs and Dale Anne Bradley.
If you love the dobro and the mountains in the Fall you definitely won't want to miss this workshop. Register today to secure your name on the list. We look forward to seeing you on the river!
