Description

This is the first major fundraiser since 2019 for The YWCA of Greater Memphis. This fundraiser is for all programs, but especially our 78 bed domestic violence shelter. We are the largest all inclusive shelter in the state of Tennessee for victims of domestic violence. We currently have 42 children housed in our shelter. We appreciate everyone and each organization for your contributions and donations! Now, we are ready to show our appreciation by sharing with You this super special event to remind us all that we are surviving and thriving! The event is a reminder that we have overcame so much over the past 2 years from depression, headache, death, divorce, unemployment, Covid etc. Our Guest Speaker is Evangelist LaTrice Ryan! LaTrice is an author, community leader, and evangelist known by many for her passion and fiery deliverance of the word of God. She is a powerhouse in the pulpit, and in her community encouraging people to discover the potential within. Recognizing the need for access to quality resources she launched LaTrice Ryan Ministries to equip individuals with the life skills they need to thrive in their everyday endeavors. Psalmist Carla Tolbert Taylor is a Memphis native with a smooth yet powerful voice. Anointed and gifted. Submitted to the call. Those are just a few ways one would describe the singing ministry of this vocal powerhouse. You may know her best as the lead vocalist of the rousing, praise and worship anthem "Everybody Praise," as performed by Grammy, Stellar and Dove nominated artists, the Temple of Deliverance Women's Choir. She had the distinct honor of being the overall winner of the Allstate Gospel Superfest Opening Act Search, an opportunity that allowed her to share her amazing gift of song on a nationally recognized platform. Comedian Mzzz Kecia was a finalist for Nick at Night’s Funniest Mom, The Memphis Soul Classic’s 103.5 Comedy Search Contest and the Rhythm of Gospel Awards. Kecia was named the 2014 Tri-State Defender’s Best in Black Award comedy winner and the 2018 Memphis Urban Laughs Best Veteran Comic. She also received the MIC (Memphis Iconic Comedian) award in 2020. One of her greatest accomplishments was being chosen to appear on B.E.T.’s --A TIME TO LAUGH hosted by Vickie Winans. Mzzz Kecia has worked with national recording artists and nationally known comics as well. She has co- starred in hit stage plays such as THIRST, SECRETS, Brown Baptist's -A SOULFUL CHRISTMAS and the 2 time award winning stageplay -THE ROYAL FAMILY. Mzzz Kecia was a headliner at The Hard Rock Cafe's LAUGHING AT THE ROCK and has made guest appearances at Chuckles Comedy House in Memphis, TN. Come out and support the YWCA of Greater Memphis while enjoying a Night of Empowerment with like minded individuals who have Survived through it All! See you soon!
