WHAT TO EXPECT: Kid Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of hands-on service projects to benefit local community organizations. Kindness projects include: Help clean up the neighborhood around Literacy ConnectsAssemble food bags for migrantsPaint kindness rocksMake bookmarks for students in Literacy Connects' Reading Seeds programHelp with fix-up projects on Literacy Connects campusGardening projectsWHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT: These hands-on projects will benefit Tucson-area nonprofit organizations and the clients they serve, including Literacy Connects, International Rescue Committee, Beads of Courage and Casa Alitas. The National 9/11 Day of Service is a way to remember those who perished on September 11th. KIND NOTES: This is a community-wide event with activities occurring throughout the morning. Several of these projects will take place outdoors. Please bring water, hat and sunscreen. Stay tuned for additional details to help you prepare for the day!
