Start the school year refreshed & ready with free yoga classes! 💫 Join us for free yoga classes to all students to help you gear up for the school year ahead! August 23rd, 6 pm - Body Speak August 25th, 9 am - Yin Yoga for Social Justice August 25th, 6 pm - Gentle Evening Flow August 26th, 9 am - GYROKINESIS *Sign up for each event individually or visit our website at https://daybydayhealing.com/classschedule to register. Our Yoga offerings include: Body Speak, Tuesdays, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - In this class, we will explore the unique way each of us store emotions, stress, past trauma in our body and learn tools that will help us to release that energy and create a supportive environment within the body. We will discover how to develop a relationship and talk with the body so that we can understand the more subtle ways our body speaks to us and how it relays information to us. Using techniques such as mindfulness, movement, meditation, breath and body exploration we will explore how to develop a personalized connection with our body and how to utilize that connection to assist us on our healing journey. This restorative class is beneficial for those dealing with chronic pain, chronic illness or injury, anyone that has ever felt unsafe in their body, or anyone looking to deepen their connection with the body. Suitable to any age, fitness level, and body type. Yin Yoga for Social Justice, Thursdays, 9:00 am - 10:00 am - This deep tissue, meditative yoga class focuses on providing validation, comfort, and support for BIPOC and LGBTQIAP+ individuals. We will use bolsters and blocks to relax into asanas (poses) for at least 2 minutes each while connecting to our natural flow of pranayama (breath). We will also use affirmations and intentions throughout the class to lift up ourselves and each other. This class is for everyone and every body and is a mixed level class. Multiple variations will be shown for each asana. Gentle Evening Flow, Thursdays, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - This yoga class is for all levels and is focused on benefiting your mental and physical health through intentional mobility and mindfulness practices. These sessions will include breath work, meditation, encouragement/affirmations, and gentle stretching and strengthening movements to counterbalance habitual movement patterns and create more easeful mobility. GYROKINESIS, Fridays, 9:00 am - 10:00 am - GYROKINESISⓇ is a rhythmic, mindful movement modality that focuses on spinal mobility and connecting breath with movement, while opening the energetic pathways of the body. It increases range of motion and body awareness while balancing the nervous system and opening the fascia. GYROKINESISⓇ is practiced on a stool and mat and is suitable for all ages, movement levels and body types.
