Relatively new survey company is looking for a relatively new worker who wants a relatively good amount of relatively challenging but relatively rewarding work. Relatives need not apply. :-) This position will start as a part-time position but may evolve into full-time later down the road. We'll train the right candidate if needed. The successful candidate can expect to be dirty at the end of the day. Job duties: * Maintain and drive vehicles, inventory, review resources, and study instrumentation (total stations, levels, scanners, UAVs and GPS receivers) as required to finish various kinds of survey work tasks Gather and record field data in field books and data collectors Work with various staff as a team Communicate and give clear direction to other crewmembers and the public Read and understand construction plans and survey drawings Read and understand survey map information and development plans Perform mathematical calculations Take accurate and legible survey notes Will work with supervisors to ensure a fun, productive, and positive work environment Perform high-quality, accurate, and proficient processes under differed conditions Job Requirements: A motivated person who likes to work in a fast-paced environment The capacity to work independently, and the ability and desire to work in the workplace on occasion to best address project issues Possess appropriate apparel and footwear reasonable for working outside in good and inclement weather and in very dense vegetation Ability to connect with other workers on project sites, and coordinate and schedule survey tasks The ability and desire to set up and work a total station for Control Traversing, Topographic Mapping, Boundary Evidence Collection, Construction Layout, offset calculations, grading and cut sheet preparation The ability and desire to run GNSS/GPS-based receivers for Static Surveys and RTK Surveys The ability and desire to perform differential leveling The ability and desire to lead other crewmembers, and the desire to develop as a leader Values ethics and further education in land studying Ability to utilize PCs and communication systems Strong hard working attitude and team-player attitude Must be willing and able to travel and work in different urban areas, including both metropolitan and rural regions Must have the ability to perform manual labor, carry up to 50 lbs., climb steep slopes, arduous walking, digging, staking, and some other physical requirements for the position for long stretches of time under all types of weather conditions, vegetation, or terrain Excellent time management abilities Sit; talk; listen; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or work objects, devices, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms Have a Washington State driver's license and be insurable preferred but not needed
