Sweet 1 year old dog needs new home

We really don’t know what breed he is, our vet said Great Dane/catahoula mix, we’ve also heard he looks like a pit mix. He’s 70 lbs, 1 year old, neutered. He’s always been great with us and our kids/big dog, but he has started showing aggression to our little dog. As much as we love him, we feel he might do best in a single dog household. He’s been great with my 4 year and old 15 year old, even great with our cat. Just no longer feels safe to keep him and our other dog in the same home. His best features - happy, loyal dog. Loves to cuddle with his humans. Knows sit and has had some training. Housebroken. Loves bones and playing. Kennel trained and sleeps kennel at night, but loves to sleep on the bed if you let him. He guard you and your house. He doesn’t even like me playing rough with my 4 year old, he will come between us and get onto me, in a cute way. His downfalls - likes to great visitors at the door vs finding them in the home. He will go into intruder mode if he doesn’t great them. Does have separation anxiety so we kennel him when we are gone. I have a heavy duty kennel for him that can come with him. We’ve been working with a trainer to try to work on the aggression with our small dog and it just doesn’t feel safe right now for them both. If you’d like another dog later, I’d recommend continuing the training with him and practicing socializing him more (safely!)
