Box maker listing Hello, My name is Matt. I own a business called Virginia product manufacturing, where I manufacture products and sell them online. One of our best selling products are stained wooden gift boxes, and I need someone to assemble these boxes from the pieces that I produce. These boxes are cut from 1/8 inch plywood and have finger joints on the corners that make them easy to glue together and clamp. The position requires you to come to our shop and pick up the box pieces and wood stain. Then, you assemble them in your garage or workspace and bring them back to us. After we have an established relationship, we can also arrange for everything to be shipped via UPS so you do not have to make trips. The boxes require staining on the exterior only with our provided oil based penetrating wood stain (Minwax) They are assembled with the glue we provide, Tightbond 3. Each box must be glued on all joints and clamped for at least one hour. We have two sizes of boxes, One is about 2“ x 2“ x 6“, and the other is about 7“ x 5“ x 2“ Pay is per piece: Small box: $1.50 per completed box Large box: $1.75 per completed box Most of our contractors need about 4 minutes to produce one box while learning the process, and 2 1/2 to 3 minutes per box once they’ve learned the assembly process. I also manufacture gluing and clamping jigs that makes the process quicker, and can produce times as low as two minutes per box. You can pick up and produce however many boxes that you want to, as long as you can return them within one weeks time. Many contractors work with helpers or family members to complete more boxes in less time. This is a role for an independent contractor or company. You must be familiar with what that entails.
