High Mowing School is now accepting applications for a part-time housekeeper, 20-25 hours/week. This unique position calls for positive and hard-working candidates interested in contributing to a Waldorf school community. An experienced cleaner and housekeeper, the ideal candidate is thorough, enthusiastic, dynamic, and organized. They understand the fundamental value of the highest level of cleanliness. A professional cleaner by choice, they view the tasks associated with cleaning and housekeeping as essential to the health of the school and hold the position as being on par with teaching or office work. They seek to fully integrate a team of dedicated faculty and administrative staff. Other duties: --Cleans HMS school buildings – bathrooms, common areas, dorms, etc - as per weekly/monthly schedule and rotation. --Takes and radiates pride in impeccable cleanliness and tidiness of all spaces. --Pays great attention to details without losing sight of overall needs. --Thrives in working independently and as a member of a small maintenance team of 3 to 4 dynamic staff members with high standards. --Enjoys thorough and repetitive work. --Cares for (and cleans) tools and equipment as well as spaces. --Seeks a community situation when s/he can live and work. Living on campus required. --Understands the demands associated with working and living in a school (occasional weekends and evening duties; responding to occasional unexpected events). Qualifications: --At least 5 years of cleaning and housekeeping experience in a boarding school, retreat center, or similar collective environment. --At least 3 years of experience working in an environment with teenagers. --Patient, positive, proud to model excellence in practical work.
