Come experience all that our Soul Food Friday Pop-up Restaurant has to offer, which will start with a complimentary cocktail hour! All of our menu items will be prepared fresh for you on-site the day of the event, featuring Chef Branden Portis and Lisa Mayes. Chef Branden is a native of Los Angeles, CA whose culinary roots started in Hampton Roads as a graduate of the renowned Culinary Institue of Virginia. His experience with fine dining and soul food cuisine has taken him from coast to coast, north to south, VA to Beverly Hills. Branden is currently an executive chef in Atlanta, GA, and will surely guarantee a delicious meal prepared with skill and expertise. Lisa Mayes is a native of Suffolk, VA whose culinary roots are right here in Hampton Roads. Her experience with Southern cuisine started in the kitchen with her mother on Saturday afternoons, preparing the must-have Sunday dinner with all the love a heart can muster. Her experience developed as a managing owner of several restaurants and lounges in the area, and is best known for the full soul food menu that was provided at Static Restaurant and Lounge, Missy's Taste of the South Restaurant & Ultra Lounge, and The Soul Shack Cafe, all in the Hampton Roads area. We will start with a complimentary cocktail hour that begins at 6 p.m. to include a bountiful charcuterie as well as 4 signature cocktails to choose from. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m. and will include Steak, Southern Fried Catfish, Fried Chicken, Oven Roasted Turkey Wings, Macaroni & Cheese, Collard Greens, Green Beans, Candied Yams, and Yellow Rice. Dinner Rolls will also accompany your meal. For dessert, we will offer Banana Pudding and Strawberry Shortcake. Beverages for dinner will include either a glass of white or red wine, sweet tea, or lemonade.
