A one-day family festival in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, bringing people from diverse Hispanic origins to create a cultural fusion! This full-day event will provide live music & dancing, vendor booths, and plenty of food. This will also help to generate revenue from rural areas and the rest of Southern Colorado. Fiestas Patrias occurs the day after Hispanic Heritage month. Each year Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage month from September 15th – October 15th by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central, and South America. The U.S. Hispanic population reached 60.6 Million in 2018. https://www.fiestaspatriascolorado.com/ VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY INFORMATION The volunteer opportunities will be available for volunteers to choose from: Beer Garden: Volunteers will assist in checking I.D.s, cleaning up the area, serving alcohol, applying wristbands, and assisting with restocking beverages, plastic ware, napkins, (etc.) and may assist with communications to the operations team. *Must 21 years of age to assist in the Beer Garden. Car Show: Volunteers will assist in directing traffic, helping vehicle owners find their specified location, registering car entries, assisting to monitor traffic around and vehicles and may assist with communications to the operations team. Entertainment Stage: Volunteers will assist with coordinating performers’ line-up, assist performers with enter and exiting the stage, assist with crowd control, and may assist with communications for the Entertainment committee. Food Truck Area: Volunteers will assist in directing food truck traffic, helping food truck vendors find their specified location, cross checking food truck vendor registration and insurance, general trash clean up and may assist with communications to the operations team. Food Vendor Area: Volunteers will assist in directing food ‘tent’ vendor traffic, helping food vendors find their specified tent location, cross checking food vendor registration and insurance, general trash clean up and may assist with communications to the operations team. Business Vendor Area: Volunteers will assist in directing business vendor traffic, helping business vendor find their specified tent location, cross checking business vendor registration and insurance, general trash clean up and may assist with communications to the operations team. Facilities Area: Volunteers will ensure the restroom area is fully stocked at all times, assist with general clean within the area, and may assist with communications to the operations team. *This will not be a fulltime volunteer role; it will only be completed at the top of every hour.
