Journalists ran out of adjectives—landmark, sweeping, historic—to describe the decisions from the Supreme Court’s 2021-22 Term. What comes next for the Court? On September 16-17, William & Mary Law School’s Institute of the Bill of Rights Law will bring together distinguished Supreme Court specialists to discuss and analyze the Court's upcoming term. Friday evening begins with the Moot Court, in which experienced Supreme Court advocates will present arguments before our panel of mock Justices (including several federal appellate judges) about North Carolina’s election law dispute and the independent state legislature theory. Then, on Saturday, expert panels of journalists, academics, advocates, and federal judges continue discussing what they anticipate from the Court in 2022-23 on topics such as race-based affirmative action, abortion challenges in the wake of Dobbs, future challenges to the administrative state, and more
