Riley is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.
The themes of inside out are Depression, Relocation, Family, Children’s Mental Health, Personified Emotions.
The lessons include:
*It’s okay to feel sadness, it is a natural human emotion and should not be bottled up.
* Learn to balance emotions rather than let one preside over the other.
* Situations are never black and white. Our emotions can help us get through tough times in order to find a deeper form of true happiness.
*Open up discussions about mental health to youth
We are following the NC state guidelines for COVID-19 approaches. We encourage mask wearing however we open that to individual discretion.
