Who will be named Small Bites Champion for 2022? You be the judge! Join us for a friendly competition among High Country chefs. The ten teams of challengers will prepare one tapas style "small bite" to be tasted by attendees and our celebrity judges! This competition will highlight the skills of each chef and their interpretations of Appalachian Cuisine. Chefs are encouraged to utilize local, High Country Grown ingredients in their small bite AND will be required to include one mystery ingredient. Pre-sale tickets range from $40-$50. A limited number of first come first, serve tickets will be available on a donate-what-you-can basis at the door, with suggested amounts ranging from $20-$50 per ticket. All proceeds will benefit FARM Cafe and help provide high quality meals to all community members, regardless of means. Ticket holders get to taste and judge every entry while benefitting an amazing cause! FARM (Feed All Regardless of Means) Cafe is North Carolina's first donate-what-you-can community cafe. Our mission is to build a healthy and inclusive community by providing high quality, delicious meals produced from local sources, whenever possible, in a restaurant where everybody eats, regardless of means. We serve an average of 1400 meals per month with up to forty percent given for less than the suggested donation, in exchange for volunteer time, or through our pay-it-forward token program. Covid-19 protocols: Tickets sales are staggered, with a maximum of thirty slots available each half-hour for the duration of the event. Social distancing is encouraged. The event will be adequately spaced out to reduce the risk of possible transmission among attendees. Masks are not required, but the event is mask friendly.
