The harvest moon taking place on Saturday September 10th in Pisces is the closest full moon to the autumnal equinox, when the sun crosses the celestial equator from north to south at the start of autumn. The harvest moon earned its name because of the moonlight that occurs early in the evenings, traditionally leaving farmers with more time to harvest their summer-grown crops here in the Northern Hemisphere. The Harvest Moon’s message of “reaping what you sow’ symbolically focuses on new beginnings and serves as a door to spiritual awareness. If you planted “good seeds” earlier this year and you watered them with care, then now is our time to reap the rewards of our efforts. Being a Pisces Full Moon, which embraces the water sign energy of this moon, we will use this full moon to help cleanse any negative vibes that have been creeping up around us lately.  It is traditionally seen as a time to finish projects and clear out emotional and physical clutter, so that the winter can be a restful and peaceful season.
