Description

This event will be held at the Ponderosa Grove Campground at 9:30 PM, but if you need help figuring out where that is, we will be caravanning from the Kanab Visitor Center at 8:30 PM. Join us as Daniel Bullets, Southern Paiute Cultural Resource Director of the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians and Autumn Gillard, Administrative Support Assistant of the Pipe Springs National Monument, teach us about Southern Paiute Astronomy and the importance of the night sky to the native peoples of the Kanab area and beyond. After the presentations, Rich Csenge and his team at Stellar Vista Observatory will set up telescopes and accompany their talk with an up close view of the stars, planets, and galaxies of the night sky.
