The Beginning Realism in Oils Workshop will help provide artists with a basic fundamentalknowledge of oil painting processes. This will include studio safety, brush selection and usage,paint application, color mixing, panel and canvas preparation. Terminology commonly usedin art, such as hue, value, composition, edge and color temperature will be discussed. Using these fundamentals, the artists will spend time painting a still life on an 8X10 panel.
We will be using fresh fruits and vegetables for a variety of color and shapes.
I PROVIDE: Canvases and / or boards
Easels
Odorless Mineral Solvent
SUPPLIES TO BRING:
Paint – Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Titanium White, Ivory Black.
Medium – Gamblin Solvent Free Gel or other medium of your choice.
Cleaner – Safflower Oil, hand soap or Masters Brush Soap.
Palette Knife – Small 1-2 inch for painting, scraping and mixing.
Paper Towels, Old clothes or Apron.
Palette for paint and mixing.
Brushes - #2 soft round, #4 ,#6 soft filbert, #4 & #6 flat or filbert bristle, ½”mop brush.
