Description

Did you know Public Lands Day is the single largest outdoor volunteer day in the nation? To celebrate this day, we would love your help keeping Circle B beautiful and beneficial to our native wildlife. We plan to accomplish this goal by conducting invasive plant removals and a litter roundup. Those planning to participate should bring water, sun protection, gloves, wear long pants, and comfortable closed-toed shoes. Come work the whole time, or just for an hour. Any help is always appreciated and our public lands thank you! Date & Time : September 24th, 8:30am-11:30am Location: All participants should plan to meet on the Discovery Center board walk, leading into the center. Invasive Plant Removal: Participants may choose to help remove invasive plants in the Pollinator Garden (located outside the center), or work in the uplands along Eagle's Roost Trail. (Participants working in the uplands will be trammed to the location at 8:45am and will be trammed back to the center at 11:00am.)PLEASE NOTE: Those participating in the invasive plant removal may be off trail and on uneven terrain.Litter Roundup: Participants may chose to hike Alligator Alley, or any open trail of their choice, and collect litter as they go. (Litter Roundup participants must stay on the designated trails at all times.)Who should sign up for this? This event is open to all ages and groups. Tickets & Sign-Ups: No sign-up required, but is highly recommended to help for planning purposes.
