Join WCHS board Vice President Steve Brooks on Saturday, September 24th at 10:00 am for a walking tour of the C&O canal! We'll walk about a mile along the towpath from the Conococheague Aqueduct to Lock 44.
This is Steve's second time giving this tour, and he is excited to share new research and information with everyone! He deeply loves the canal's history, growing up in Poolesville, Maryland, near iconic C&O Canal sights like Lock 25, Seneca Creek Aqueduct, and Edwards Ferry. He also regularly runs the towpath!
The tour will start at 10:00 am and last one and a half to two hours. We will gather at the base of the walking bridge at Cushwa Basin. Parking is limited, so parking at the C&O Canal National Park Headquarters is encouraged.
Only 50 tickets are available, so register early!
