Fresno Area Sheet Metal Workers' Apprenticeship TESTING for APPRENTICESHIP (Testing in September) You must apply and register online. Apply Online: fresnosheetmetal.com Fresno Area Sheet Metal Workers Apprenticeship Program is looking for applicants with little or no experience to enter into the Sheet Metal Industry. You will earn while you learn. Minorities and Women are encouraged to apply. Additionally, Individuals with 4000 hours of prior experience in a job that requires mechanical ability (working with tools, machines, math, measuring, problem solving, fabricating, etc.) may qualify for direct entry and placement. Examples of the type work experience would include Sheet Metal Industry, HVAC, Automotive, Construction, Machinists, Plumbing, Electrical, Equipment Maintenance, Welder/Fabricator, Mechanic, and others may qualify for direct entry. Direct entry would be based on verifiable experience and interview. Individuals may be given credit for experience and start at a higher wage. Must have High School diploma, Equivalency test, or G.E.D. earned in the continental United States at the time of application. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language. Must be normally physically able to perform work of the Sheet Metal trade. Must have a valid drivers license at time of application. Applicants must have a good work ethic (hard worker), be dependable, and drug free (includes marijuana). Any Construction experience and Mechanical ability will be helpful. Work locations may be in the Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings counties. Completed Applications: Test day will be scheduled for applicants who have turned in a completed application. Test consists of the ASVAB test.
