Plant Support/Packaging Specialist Part-Time Manual Labor Headquarters/ Plant - Paunchy Elephant/Renton, WA Salary Range: $16.5000 To 17.0000 Hourly Starting at $16.50 an hour, $17/hr after 30 days in good standing Part-time, 1-2 days a week As Renton's first USDA-certified organic food manufacturer, Paunchy Elephant was established in 2015 with the vision of providing busy professionals quality food and beverage items to compliment their favorite meals, events, and moments. We have current openings in our Packaging department at our Renton facility. Being part of the Plant Support and Packaging Department, you will join a team that prides itself on the responsibility of ensuring that our sanitation standards are met on a daily basis across all equipment, process, and work areas. You will be part of a team that takes pride and ownership in ensuring equipment and facility are effectively sanitized in accordance with established food manufacturing regulations and in compliance with USDA. You will assist the Founder and family with food prep, cleaning, inventory, and labeling of finished products. You will also perform cleaning and sanitation duties, sometimes under time-sensitive conditions. General Duties and Responsibilities: Load dishes/equipment into the dish machine. Dry, inspect, and return clean equipment to their respective areas. Maintain a separation from clean and dirty processes. Rinse, dry, label, seal, and place finished product into cooler after adding to inventory. Maintain daily records of cleaning and inventory. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements: Experience with the use of sanitation tools and chemicals, food safety, and the safe operation of standard sanitation equipment. Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with the safety and sanitation requirements. Use of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices. Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Experience carrying out independent tasks as well as working in a team setting. We are looking for people who understand and appreciate the importance of social distancing and extra sanitation steps Work Environment: The majority of this work is performed in a standing position and can be in both refrigerated and non refrigerated environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to airborne particles. The floors can be slippery. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands: The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds with the help of lifting equipment or team lift, often in a cold, refrigerated environment.
