We don't have a lot of work (6 gigs rest of the year). But, we're on 3 agency websites. We have a singer who was top 20 on the Voice. We go to NY and DC sometimes so think about that. I just found out our guy isn't doing it anymore and I'm pretty surprised. Gigs pay $200 - $350 spread across the six. No regular band rehearsal. It's about being prepared. Vocal a plus but not an absolute necessity.
