Maintenance and Repair Technician (North Chicago, IL) compensation: Start at $17 per hr employment type: full-time job title: Maintenance and Repair Technician ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES This role includes knowledge of the following duties and responsibilities however minimal on-the-job training can be provided as necessary. Repair of the door and lock installation Minor repairing of appliances, doors, windows Minor Patching and painting of drywall and cleaning and painting of vacant units Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry Available for emergency needs as necessary after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures regarding safety. Other duties as assigned. Required to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays; available on-call 24 hours. OT pay. EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent preferred, references a plus EXPERIENCE Preferred - One(1) to Three (3) years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or related profession and the ability to learn a wide variety of new skills and tasks associated with the performance of the duties assigned. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Ability to handle a variety of changing duties resulting from the normal run of maintenance work requirements. REQUIREMENTS: Access to a reliable vehicle to travel between locations.
