Description

Join us on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 7:00pm when SVHS welcomes Dr. Connie Ruzich when she presents "Why We Remember: Lost Voices of World War I." In "Why We Remember: Lost Voices of World War I," Dr. Connie Ruzich, a 2014- 2015 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Exeter and professor of English at Robert Morris University, will share photographs, letters, poems, and other first-hand accounts from the First World War. Rather than focusing on military strategies and battles, the presentation will instead look at the stories and experiences of people who lived through the world's first industrial war and will explore the question: Why do we commemorate past wars? Join us on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 7pm when Dr. Ruzich shares, in person, her research into the use of poetry in British centenary commemorations of the First World War. Participants can join person at the Old Sewickley Post Office or on Zoom, for this exciting presentation.
