Steve Basford, a member of the Ohio State football official statistics crew and a local sportscaster, talks about his books, Buckeye Memories: From the Couch, the Stands, and the Press Box ... and a Few Fun Facts and 2001 Games (And Counting): A Sports Odyssey. Steve has attended every home Ohio State football game since 1970, except for the 2020 season, with 40 years in the press box as a statistician. He is the play-by-play voice of multiple sports for Ohio Wesleyan University and has worked over 2,001 high school, college, and professional games as a sportscaster or statistician. His first book, "Buckeye Memories: From the Couch, the Stands, and the Press Box ... and a Few Fun Facts" contains his memories of the Ohio State football experience from 1968 through 2020, and has over 500 fun facts. His second book, "2001 Games (And Counting): A Sports Odyssey", covers his sportscasting and statistician adventures. Tickets are free but reservations required.
