Seeking Dog Coming From A Dire Situation

I am seeking to give a dog the best possible life, but not one for "re-homing," which is code for "for sale." I will pay a very small fee (under $50) if money makes you think I'd be a better owner. The fact is, I have never paid to obtain a pet because there are far too many who desperately need homes. My pets have all lived long, spectacular lives. Instead of paying for the pet, I use that money for premium food, medical care, a comfy bed (for when we're not snuggled into bed together), treats, dishes, a collar and leash, and plenty of adventures, from hiking to camping to exploring, etc... My pets are my babies and go everywhere with me. I work from home so they are never alone. I don't have $500 to spend just to acquire a dog, but I do have enough to give him everything he needs and keep his life constantly full of love and fun. I am not looking for a young puppy, but an older one is fine. I'm seeking a medium-sized male dog that has lived through some tough times and needs a momma to heal his pain and will also heal mine.
