This is an approximately 4 year old Australian Shepard/Chow mix we call Charlie Barker. Charlie was recently rescued from the Brookings Humane Society Shelter in Oregon. He came there from another shelter in Southern California where he'd been caught as a stray in the San Bernadino area. Asking a rehoming fee of $65. Please call 707 845-5one73
The good:
1. He is VERY loving and affectionate
2. He is very devoted, following you everywhere you go
3. He is FULL of energy and will fetch like a pro
4. He walks very well on a leash (unless he sees another dog)
5. He is neutered, chipped, dewormed, and fully vaccinated, in good health
6. He knows some words like "sit" and "lie down" and may be trainable with much patience and food rewards
7. He is house-trained
8. He is licensed for 12 months in Humboldt County
9. He comes with collar and leash
The challenging (he needs to be in a home where he is the only pet with no kids):
1. He is food aggressive and seems constantly hungry
2. He is dominance aggressive and will bark and growl at other, unknown dogs
3. Since he has spent all of his life in a tiny cell or stray on the loose, he can be a bull in a china shop in the house.
4. He can jump like a deer and needs access to a well-secured yard with 4 to 5 foot wall/fence
5. He will tear apart things like stuffed animals
6. He needs LOTS of exercise!
