You don't need a talent agent license if you represent yourself, family member or one artist, BUT otherwise you must have a TALENT AGENT LICENSE to operate in Florida and negotiate and book a musician/band at ANY venue. Check the person your booking entertainment with ASK if they have a Florida Talent Agent License, go to (myfloridalicense.com) to verify. These people trying to pretend to be big time agents here in SW Florida are doing a dis-service to the Venue, the Artist and their illegal period!! Criteria needed to be a Talent Agent: 1.) Application, $5000.00 surety bond (this protects the booking venue and the musician/artists), must submit an application with maximum scheduling of fees, charges & commissions no more than 10% union 20% non-union, $705.00 application fee, one year experience in a legit Talent Agency, Fingerprint & Background by Florida Licensing, 5 Moral Character affidavits, operator work experience form, plus additional info requested on the application form per FL 468,406(1). It's illegal to hire an unlicensed contractor in Florida and you should not hire unlicensed agents trying to make a buck off the backs of musicians illegally!!!
