DEARBORN, MI — A small town Michigan farmer will be providing tips about raising grains in your own home garden in a virtual talk hosted through the Dearborn Public Library.
Scott Hucker of Great Lakes Staple Seeds will talk about selection, planting, cultivation, harvest and processing on a personal-use scale, along with culinary uses, on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on zoom.
The small town farmer from Ortonville, Michigan will go through the growing season step by step, sharing his personal experience with growing numerous crops, such as wheat, barley, oats, rice, sorghum, triticale, millet and amaranth.
Participants must register for the event through the Library's events calendar at dearbornlibrary.org.
