"Is it legal for elected officials to give stuff (products or services) away in order to get people to vote for them?" .....................They give away fliers, mailers, buttons and pins all the time. They have complimentary food at their fund raisers. They promise to do certain things in exchange for your vote. I suppose that could be considered a service. Seems to me it must be legal.
