female lab

I took in a female lab that is about 5 or 6 years old. She was skin and bones. I've taken her to a vet for shots and b12 shot and pet tinic as she was very malnourished and also tested for heartworm. I was told she had never had pups. I don't know this for a fact. She has been around my male retriever but I haven't noticed her going into heat either. I'm not even sure if she's been fixed. I did ask the vet but never got an answer as he was concentrated on her condition. She is looking a lot better now and I'm looking for a home or rescue for her now. Very small re-home fee if at all since I'm just looking to place her to a good home. Preferably one where she isn't competing with other dogs for food as I think she was bullied by bigger dogs.
