Join us for a first-of-its-kind conference in Northern Wisconsin. Attendees will hear from other communities that have implemented innovative programs and projects to create meaningful change. To inquire about scholarships please contact: [email protected] Breakout Sessions:Using the Idea Friendly Method to Tackle Your Rural Challenges - Deb BrownThe Idea Friendly Method is a way to involve more people in solving your challenges in your community. You'll learn how to find folks to help you, how to use connections more effectively and start taking small steps. In this interactive presentation Deb will walk the audience through the Idea Friendly method and share stories of other communities and their successes. You'll leave feeling inspired and ready to tackle your challenges with the project you will have begun to create. Deb will lead a workshop helping you to create actionable projects to begin solving your rural challenges. You'll get to see everyone's projects and be encouraged to use their ideas as well! Pathways 2 Prosperity - Jenny DouvillePathways to Prosperity and Well-Being (P2PW) is an initiative in Dakota County, Minnesota, developed to eliminate long-term poverty through the redesign of service delivery and economic supports. P2PW is in the third year of operating a pilot that provides customized and integrated supports to whole families across all social determinants of health while centering the experience and expertise of families and frontline staff. This session will discuss the development of the P2PW initiative and practice model pilot, the results of an independent implementation evaluation, and what Dakota County has learned along the way. Community Programs in Action-Family Drug Treatment Court and Hope Village This session features two programs that have proven to be successful for local communities. Family Drug Treatment Court and Hope Village. Sit in and learn how you can implement similar programs in your area. How to Advocate for your Community - Kari SouthernYou may know that you want to do something, but you may not know what to do or where to start. Advocacy can happen on many levels and allows individuals and groups to have a voice when there is a need for change. Join the discussion to learn the best way to advocate in your community effectively and efficiently to help influence a positive outcome. It Takes a Village - LaDonna HoyLaDonna Hoy will share the story of eight Twin City west suburban communities working together to address the emergency needs of its struggling families and individuals and to remove complex barriers to housing, employment, child care, family support, transportation, and connection with the life and opportunities of the community. She will share the vision, values, and beliefs that sparked the successful cross-sector and cross-system collaborative efforts needed to help families and kids stabilize in times of crisis, overcome complex barriers, and move forward on a path to strong and hopeful futures. And why and how It takes the heart and will and expertise of the whole village.
