Sightz & Soundz is The Numberz FM FREE content creation camp for middle school aged youth (9-14 years old). With the aim of leading students through an exploration of audio, video, and visual production. This particular class will focus on textiles, photography, and graphic design! Students will learn dyeing, screen print, photography & lighting, and graphic design with image manipulation. They will end the camp with a collection of various art mediums. We request a $5 holding fee to ensure parent/guardians are committed to bringing their youth to camp and not hold a limited seat that can be given to someone else. All equipment is included along with water, snacks, and daily lunch provided. NOTE: This camp will be held at various locations around Portland. We will meet each morning at The Portland Art Museum. We will provide a detailed daily agenda to all participants after registration. The Numberz is providing a very unique creator experience, by carving out a media space to empower communities of color to share their thoughts, concerns and celebrate each other. The primary purpose of The Numberz is to create media space for Black people and communities of color, in a city where gentrification has played a significant part in scattering their voices.
