A successful Restoration Technician monitors, inspects and performs drying tasks, demolition, pack-out of contents and various fire restoration activities, sometimes including reconstruction. Restoration Technicians learn to complete some project documentation including notes, photos and forms to ensure payment from insurance companies, as well as direct customers. The best Restoration Technicians advance to project manager roles. Job Responsibilities Reports to the Production Manager who assigns work orders, The technician helps ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on truck. Completes assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job with urgency Performs damage repair and other tasks including water extraction, pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, light construction and demolition as directed by a supervisor Ensures equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled. Reports any equipment malfunction or damage to supervisor Communicates customer issues and daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff Job Requirements High school graduate or equivalent experience Experience in the restoration or construction industry is preferred, but not required Valid Drivers’ License and satisfactory driving record are required. Must be able to pass a background check. Good communication skills Good problem solving and customer service skills Must be able to prioritize activities and meet deadlines Experience with entering data using a tablet or mobile phone is helpful Must report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform Industry certifications are not required: Physical Demands and Working Conditions Applicant must be prepared to: Move up to 50 pounds often by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects. Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching are required. Exchange ideas with others and receive and act on detailed information given. From time to time wear a respirator, which is used in certain situations, and it must be able to seal to your face. Work both inside and outside with or without air conditioning or heating.
