SHOP FOREMAN JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a full time working, hands-on shop foreman position. You will work closely with the owner on welding and fabrication tasks, developing schedules, project details and more. They must have at least 10 years’ experience in Mig, Tig, Stick and Pipe welding. Must be able to work weekdays, occasional nights and Saturdays and travel for some jobs may be required. They must have and maintain a clean driving record and be able to work off a service truck or in shop.
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of welding equipment and ensure each employee has appropriate safety equipment and training to perform their jobs safely
Oversee the work of welders, on and off site and other employees who work in the weld shop
Training new welders on proper techniques, while tracking jobs that are being performed and the time frame it takes to complete-also tracks employees time and performance
Must oversee the cleaning, maintenance and repair of all trucks, shop equipment, machinery, and tools
Have experience in reading, interpreting, and working from blueprints, drawings, and equipment manuals
Coordinate the set up and operation of Fabricating machines, Welding machines, Grinders, Bandsaw, Ironworker etc.
Must be able to lift and/or move 50+ pounds
Standing, walking including and primarily on uneven surfaces, turning, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working from heights, speaking, and hearing are required continuously
Will be subject to outside weather conditions, also could be exposed to wet and/or humidity, cold and heat
